BP To Acquire The Kentucky Derby
British Petroleum (better known as BP) has announced that on January 1, 2013 it will officially acquire the Kentucky Derby for $5.7 million. A representative from BP told the Wrong Report that they have wonderful plans in store for the future concerning the Kentucky Derby. However, this contradicts what the Chairman of the Board at BP said last week in an interview on CNN. In that interview he stated, “We don’t know what we are going to do with it. It’s not something that we need, want, or have any use for. BP’s product is mainly oil/gasoline. To purchase the Kentucky Derby is not something that aligns with our business outlook, nor does it seem in our best interest or theirs.”
The Kentucky Derby has released a statement which said that this deal is going to change racing forever. While neither the Derby or BP have said what that will look like, I’m assuming it’s safe to say that they will not be using gasoline fueled horses.
This is Mike with the Wrong Report.
